Music

Beckham has been taking a music class at the YMCA with his friends Lilly and Caroline.   He just loves Wednesday's and ask me daily if it is time for his class with Miss Michelle.   We sing songs, play musical instruments, read books, pretend, and dance.   On this day Miss Michelle was taking them on a pretend bus trip.  Beckham loves the school bus.

A week ago Mckay had his second grade music program. He was a "Space Mouse". Here he is posing with Beckham and Mckinley. Mckinley is displaying the remains of her black eye. Her black eye was courteous of Mckay. He jumped into bed, while Mckinley was sick, not knowing that she was in there and hit her eye with his head. I couldn't believe how black her eye got. This is about a week later. She looks like a bruiser.  Beckham loves posing with his big brother, he thinks he is so big. After the program the kids have cookies and mingle with their friends. Mckay was running around with his friends and Mckinley and Beckham were eating some good cookies.

Here is some live footage of Mckay's music program.

Big Boy Bed and State Gymnastic meet

Last Thursday Mckinley got Strep and it knocked her out. She was so sick. She laid helpless on the couch all weekend and didn't eat hardly anything. By Saturday when she wasn't feeling any better and still running a temp we took her back to the Doctors to try another antibiotic, which seemed to work.
Mckay and Mckinley have gotten into a bad habit of sleeping together-- mainly because Mckinley is scared. But, while she was sick we made her sleep in her own bed. So while she was in her bed Beckham saw an opportunity to take her place. I didn't think he would actually fall asleep but he did. Every night we battle with him because he doesn't want to sleep in his crib. He wants to sleep in McKay's bed. What have we started??

Over the weekend Mckinley had her last meet of the year. I felt so bad that she was so sick and didn't perform like she wanted to. She did place in Vault. Here is a photo of the girls who went to state.

Jazz vs Pacer's

While my sister and her two kids were in town the Utah Jazz played the Indiana Pacers. Growing up in Utah we have always cheered for the Jazz. It was fun to see them play and have a little piece of Utah here in Indiana. Mckay has gone to a few Pacer games this year and they're his NBA team. Everyone cheered for the Jazz except for Mckay, he cheered loudly for his Pacer's. I guess McKay didn't cheer loud enough because the Jazz won. Thanks Alan for the great seats, we had so much fun.

Mckay is posing with the Pacer mascot Boomer.  Beckham didn't like Boomer.  The minute he saw him making his way through the audience up to us he went crazy.   It has been a great obedience tool.   We just threaten that we are going call Boomer-- it works every time.
We are all dancing at the timeout break!! Mckay hoping to make it on the Big Screen.

Beckham loved the basketball games except for Boomer!!!  Here a few pics of the game.

Chicago

My sister has been here the past week and we decided to head up to Chicago to walk around the city. I am posting some photos of our day trip.
Some great city sites! Mckay is posing in front of the Chicago Tribune and WGN radio with the skyline in the background.

Eating some Chicago Deep Dish pizza!
Mckinley at the American Doll Store.
Chicago can be so cold and windy.  It truly is the Windy City.  Although, it was somewhat of a nice day the kids froze.
The kids loved the Hershey Store.  Mckinley got some hot cocoa and Beckham and McKay wanted giant Hershey Chicago bars.

2nd Grade Basketball Tournament

Last weekend Mckay played in the 2nd grade basketball tournament. They one the first game in overtime then lost the second in overtime. They played so hard and lost by two points. Mckay dribbled the ball down with 5 seconds to go and attempted to shoot it from half court and almost made it. The ball hit the front of the rim and then bounced out. Mckay was heart broken because he wanted to play next week so his dad could see him play (Jason was in Phoenix). Mckay ended the season well and had 12 of the 16 points in the first game and had 8 the second. It has been really fun to see them all progress.

I am posting some lengthy videos just mainly for grandparents and whoever wants to be bored with 2nd grade basketball.

Week in Review

Mckay finished the book Coraline so, we celebrated by going to see it on the big screen.  They were really excited to go because  my kids love going to the movies and haven't been since Christmas.   Beckham jumped a few times on a few scary scenes but, sat so good and kept saying "I'm not scared mom". The movie was a little scary but, very entertaining as far as children's movies go.
I thought this picture was funny.  Mckay's mouth is full of popcorn and Mckinley looks like she is going to be in the scary movie.
Last Thursday Jason and I went with some friends to see Jeff Dunham at Conseco.   We sat in the Larry Bird suite and laughed really hard.   Who would have thought that a Ventriloquist would be so funny??  The place was full.  Obviously, Jeff Dunham is a big hit!!

The Indianapolis Children's Museum is featuring a Lego's exhibit. Last week the kids had a half day so we decided to check it out. Mckay loves Lego's but, I don't let him play with them that much. They are such a mess and require so much work. So, it was nice to let them play with no worries and me griping.  And yes Mckay is in a Knights costume.  I promise I didn't take him looking that way, he is wearing some of the dress up clothes.

Last Saturday we had a Birthday party for my friend Beth. We went bowling as couples, ate pizza, and of course had cake and ice cream.  Here is a picture of all the girls.  None of the men cared to pose for a picture.   Happy Birthday Beth!!Last Saturday Mckay had his last season basketball game.  He starts tournament play this weekend.   There team did really well on Saturday and won 30 to 10.   Mckay scored twelve. Jason was able to get a few pictures of Mckay before my camera battery went out.  Again these are mainly for the grandparents and the pictures aren't really that great.  Maybe this weekend we will get better pics.   As you can tell Mckay isn't afraid to shoot the ball.  For every shot he makes he misses two.
